If I could give it zero stars I would do that. Plenty more will be needed in future. My reservations about this book are the constant theme of death, depression and upsetting events. The introduction of historical matter was, of course, inevitable; the English Parliament strikes its roots so deep into the past that scarcely a single feature of its proceedings can be made intelligible without reference to history. Great insight into advertising . I bought three of the 50-year editions for friends and my teacher in my sangha for this winter holiday season, and my only regret is that the drawing of Han-Shan and Jittoku in the original introduction to the Cold Mountain poems has been replaced with an inferior drawing of Han-Shan, which not only conceals his face, but totally hides his original nature which the original drawing captures.
